TAKE TEXAS BACK!
A bunch of thieves, thugs, and nutcases took over Texas. Then they used it as a stepping stone to Washington, DC.

They raided our treasury, stripped our schools and handed it all to their corporate cronies.

Y'all ready to do something about it?

Jackass John Culberson (TX-7)

by: Libby Shaw

Thu Mar 12, 2009 at 11:14:04 AM CDT

Well, folks, another one of our Republican leaders in Washington has mortified the living daylights out of us. Again. This time John Culberson wins the Pendejos of the Day Award for mind numbing stupidity and childishness.

Yesterday Culberson threw a temper tantrum on national TV calling Nancy Pelosi a "Marie Antoinette" who had insisted upon riding through the poverty stricken streets of Paris in the finest and most expensive carriages while people starved.

For the record, the Pentagon approved military, private aircraft for House Speakers after 9/11.

Culberson, by the way, inserted $63.6 million for pork spending in the stimulus budget he vehmently rails against.

Libby Shaw :: Jackass John Culberson (TX-7)
If Jackass John had a brain he would have never gone there.  As a member of the Party of Let Them Eat Cake and/or Die (as witnessed below in the "Bushvilles"aka Trickle Downistans diary) Culberson publicly tried to project the evils of his own Party onto the U.S. House Speaker.   But Culberson, like most Republicans, is not the sharpest tool in the shed and he does not understand how much he insults our intelligence when he utters such whacko and hypocritical nonsense.

I betcha John Culberson does not have a problem with former House Speaker Tom Delay's appalling lack of ethics, unabashed greed, arrogance and corruption not to mention his close ties to jailed lobbyist crook Jack Abramoff. Apparently Republicans have their own set of rules in the alternative universe in which they live.

Houston 7 we have a serious problem.  Please remind me why Culberson got elected?

Who's the Jackass? (0.00 / 0)
Culberson did not "insert $63.6 million for pork spending in the stimulus budget(sic) he rails against." This was done with the support of his Democratic colleagues and under the leadership of Nancy Pelosi and Steny Hoyer. They cannot block Culberson's pork while pandering to the least moral members of their own indisciplined majority.

Who re-elected Culberson?

Again, this is the strategy of the DCCC: protecting the least moral member of their own majority rather than trying to build a larger of stronger party in the House. Specifically, the DCCC wasted enough money trying to save Nick Lampson to have defeated Mike McCaul and John Culberson. For his part, Lampson ran away from the party. The GOP handily shot him in the back.

In 2010, the GOP will run a mid-term campaign focusing on failed (or corrupt) Democratic leaders. And, voters will desert the Democratic majority in Congress if it has wrecked the Obama recovery program by then and continues to over-tax workers in blue states in order to throw money at planters in red states.

Their wealthy patrons anywhere in the world, including every lobby in Washington, cannot save the Democratic Congress from its own damn selves. No, while the economy collapses all around us, Democrats in Congress feed money to the ever-expanding lobbies consisting of bi-partisan cronies, even including John Culberson.

Hold Harmless!

That's the battle-cry of the Cringing Liberals.

But at the very least Culberson should stop throwing his hypocritical public temper tantrums over the stimulus budget when he is greedily licking his chops (for his fat cats) for the $63.6 million coming.

I have to disagree that the Republicans will be in a position to argue about failed or corrupt Democratic leaders as early as 2010. There are too many corrupted Republicans still around and right now the party is in a civil war between its extremists and moderates.

There is also a lot of populist rage out there and much if not most of it is directed at Republicans.

I do agree the DCCC is a problem.  A big problem.

That populist rage is not directed at Democrats.

But, that is precisely the GOP plan today. And, it worked just fine for them in 1994 following a bi-partisan round of bail-outs for failed financial institutions here and abroad.

So, which of their own cronies are Hold Harmless Democrats directing populist rage at today?

All I here is whiny "won't anybody think about the children?"

I noticed an interesting exchange the (0.00 / 0)
other night between Chris Matthews and Ari Fleisher on Hardball. Chris was giving Ari a tough time about the Bush Administration's having misled the American people into Iraq.  As one would expect, Ari fought back with disingenuous faux outrage by attacking Chris.  Chris would have none of it and he slugged back.  Ari then tried to blame the Democrats, too, for Iraq.  I wish I could remember Chris's exact response to that but it was spot on.  It was something like "oh so now you want to blame a handful of Democrats for your war?"  Chris ended the interview by saying the American people were tired of Ari's kind of reasoning.  The election made that clear.

I guess what I am trying to say is some in the media finally understand that an election has taken place. Some also realize they've been used by the Bush propaganda machine.

1994 was a long time ago in a different century.  I don't have a crystal ball but I don't think we'll go back there for a long time to come.  We'll lean on the national Party to take care of corrupted or sell-out Democrats.  The national netroots will likely launch a campaign in this respect as we near 2010.
