TAKE TEXAS BACK!
A bunch of thieves, thugs, and nutcases took over Texas. Then they used it as a stepping stone to Washington, DC.

They raided our treasury, stripped our schools and handed it all to their corporate cronies.

Y'all ready to do something about it?

I see my first "Tea Partyers" and come away underwhelmed...

by: lightseeker

Sat Jul 25, 2009 at 01:25:08 AM CDT

I attended a demonstration on Thursday in front of Sen. Cornyn's Office here in Houston. Much to my surprise the "North Texas Tea Party" showed up to counter-demonstrate. I then find tonight on the Memorandum site a posting form them about the event.   We Blew Away MoveOn

LOL! There were at most 20 of these people there. They claim 200. MoveOn had about 40 or so. They claim there were 10. Most telling are the pictures they use to prove their case. In none of them can you count more than 10 people. I guess their cameras didn't have a wide enough lens to catch their 200 members. On this point, see their own pictures here: We Blew Away MoveOn

More below the fold

The honk support also came down on our side, about 60% to 40% or so.  Clearly, I am an interested party in all this and I could just be making this up too, so discount the honks, but their own pictures put the lie to their other claims.

More telling still. MoveOn demonstrators chanted our demands - Health Care Now. Tea Party chanted..... Nothing. Have some sympathy for them. Who can put their heart into a chant like: "We Want NO Health Care for Everyone"  or "Just Say No to Fair and Equitable Health Care!"

Even more strange. There was a guy , actually he was holding their banner , dressed in full black burka. I mean full face veil, full body robes, etc.

Here is the garb I am referring to:

burka-gone-wild

In fairness, he was showing parts of his hairy shins, that is how I could tell his gender.

Now, to drive home how loony this was. It was 95  degrees at noon and he was standing directly in the sun.

If this is what they call "Blowing Away MoveOn, they are clearly reality challenged beyond anything I could have believed possible.

How desperate are the right wingers to gin up these angry sloganeers into a  "movement"? If you check the memorandum page, you will find coverage of this non-event by several national conservative bloggers.

Had I not been present personally, I would not have know how lame their claims were .

Guess... (4.00 / 1)
Instead of drinking the tea, they have been smoking it...  must have gotten some of that "herbal" tea.

I guess Burka Guy missed this event (4.00 / 1)
Too bad, he was the most interesting thing they had going for them....

When the orders arrived from Ailes via Faux News, they got the address but no marching orders.  Without explicit instructions on what to do, what could they do?  I mean, it's not like they have any imagination (except for those scary brown boogey men).

There was a society of men among us, bred up from their youth in the art of proving by words multiplied for the purpose, that white is black, and black is white, according as they are paid ...  Jonathan Swift, "Gulliver's Travels," 1726
